NEET- UG 2017 Exam Details

This year NEET 2017 examination is conducted in order for admission to BDS/MBBS courses which are offered by all private and government medical colleges in India.
NEET 2017 would be organized by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) in offline mode.
NEET is conducted once every year in the month of May. 
The previously existing AIPMT exam was replaced by NEET exam in the year 2016 onwards. 
As per the last order released by Hon. Supreme Court, no other exam except NEET would be conducted in order for admission into BDS/MBBS courses in India from the year 2017.

The NEET 2017 application procedure is an online process. You would have to visit the official website and download the NEET Application Form.Once you have downloaded the application form you would have to fill up all the necessary details mentioned in the application form. After completely filling up the application form, candidates would have to send the confirmation page along with all the necessary documents to the following address mentioned below: The Assistant Secretary (NEET) Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 092 

Application Fee: 

The application fees can be paid either through online/offline process: *.Online Process:Candidates would have to pay the fees through debit/credit card using online payment gateway. *.Offline Process:Candidates would have to make the payment through the bank challan.

Eligibility Criteria 

Nationality:

Candidates need to be of Indian Nationality or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) in order to be eligible. 

Age Limit:

Candidates need to be a minimum of 17 years of age as on 31stDecember of the year of admission whereas he/she should not exceed 25 years of age for general category and 30 years of age for reserved category in order to be eligible. 

Education Qualification:

Candidates need to have cleared or currently appearing class 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Bio-technology or any other elective subject with English. Candidates need to have secured at least 50% marks in PCB group for general category and 45% for general PH and 40% for ST/SC/OBC category. 
The NEET 2017 exam would be conducted in offline mode (written exam) for a duration of 3 hours. The question paper would consist of a total of 180 multiple choice questions. 4 marks would be given for every correct answer and 1 mark would be deducted for every incorrect answer. 

The NEET syllabus 

would consist of 4 parts, i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Botany and Zoology. The syllabus contains the 11thand 12thboard (CBSE & NCERT) academic syllabus. Apart from these, some part comes from the other boards syllabus. The syllabus would include common syllabus notified by the Medical Council of India(MCI).
